The West Virginia Fayette County Urban Renewal Authority is developing a sustainable community the New River Gorge Region with the intention of improving the economy while preserving the environment. Wolf Creek Park is a 1,000-acre tract that includes a potential for 21 light manufacturing or technical sites, 60 single-family home sites, 36 town house units, retirement community, small retail center, extreme sports training center, the New River Birding & Nature Center, and community and conference facilities. Buried electric, water, gas and sewer are present and available.

The New River Birding & Nature Center will include LEED-certified structures, a wetlands boardwalk, amphitheater, and a network of self-interpretive nature trails throughout the residential and business areas. This project is led by one of the best scientific minds in science Bill Hilton Jr. (Discover Magazine Dec. 2008). The NRBNC will host the annual New River Birding and Nature Festival (named a Top 10 birding venue in Bird Watcher’s Digest), as well as many other environmental education programs, many of which are well underway.

Wolf Creek Park is located in Fayette County on Rt 16 near Appalachian Drive and adjacent to US-19, a major interstate connector that provides access to the entire eastern seaboard; centrally located within 500 miles of 66% of the U.S. population and 33% of the Canadian population. CSX Transportation provides nearby rail service and two airports are located within 65 miles.

There are two incentives to mention right away. One, there is no B&O tax as Wolf Creek Park is county-owned property. Two, a lease to own option will avoid property taxes, to qualifying companies for the term of the lease. Affordably priced at $55,000/acre for commercial sites, and $7,500/acre for residential sites (10 acre minimum) Wolf Creek Park is ready to serve your needs and those of your clients.

They say an education in the mountains lasts a lifetime. In the role of higher education, located within 50 miles of Wolf Creek Park are two technical institutes, a college and a university.
