Situated on Rt. 16 near Appalachian Drive on the Coal Heritage Trail, Wolf Creek Park is reached via U.S. 19, a major interstate connector providing easy access to the entire Eastern Seaboard.
The Fayette County Urban Renewal Authority has developed this sustainable community to improve the economy while preserving the environment. The 1,000-acre tract land-use plan calls for the development of light industry sites, single-family home sites, town house units, a retirement community, a small retail center, an extreme sports training center, community and conference facilities, and the New River Birding & Nature Center.
The new Boy Scouts of America location, The Summit: Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve, is just nine miles south of Wolf Creek Park.
New River Birding & Nature Center site Wolf Creek Park is located in Fayette County on RT 16 near Appalachian Drive, adjacent to US-19. Drive into Wolf Creek Park on Nick Rahall Greenway. Pass Bridge Brew Works, the steel building on the left. Turn left down the graveled road to the New River Birding & Nature Center site.
